Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our Colorado vacation rentals, including Breckenridge/Summit County and Colorado Springs.
General Questions
Can I check in early or check out late?
Due to our housekeeping and inspection schedule, early check-ins/late check-outs are evaluated case by case. Early check-in carries a $35 non-refundable fee; if we’re unable to accommodate, the fee will be refunded.
Can I bring my pet (dog)?
Yes—many of our properties are pet-friendly. There is a one-time, non-refundable $100 pet fee for up to two dogs (no aggressive breeds). This fee is not for cleaning; excessive shedding or extra laundering may incur additional charges.
Breckenridge & Summit County
How far is my Tiger Run Chalet to Breckenridge and Frisco?
Both towns are approximately 7 miles (about 10 minutes by car).
What is the elevation?
Breckenridge sits at roughly 9,600 ft.
What is altitude sickness?
If you’re not used to high elevation, you may feel winded or tired with light activity. Common symptoms include headache, nausea, and insomnia. Preventive tips: take it easy on arrival, stay hydrated, and limit alcohol your first day.
How do I get around town? Is there public transportation?
The Summit Stage offers free public bus service throughout Summit County to ski areas, lodging, town centers, retail areas, medical centers, and some neighborhoods. Rideshare is also available. There are multiple bus stops throughout the county, including near Tiger Run and along main routes in Breckenridge.
Do I need a 4-wheel drive vehicle in Breckenridge?
Roads are generally well maintained and plowed; an all-wheel-drive vehicle is typically sufficient. Preferences and weather conditions vary.
Is there free parking for skiing?
Yes—several free lots are available, but they fill early. Arrive ahead of peak times.
How far is it to various ski resorts?
- Keystone: about 20 minutes
- Arapahoe Basin (A-Basin): about 30 minutes

Why is the hot water not working in my Tiger Run Chalet?
Refer to your check-in instructions and the welcome binder. Some chalets have a switch (often in the kitchen or bathroom) to activate hot water; allow 20–30 minutes to heat. If issues persist, the water line may be frozen—please contact us or Tiger Run maintenance for assistance.
Is there air conditioning?
Our Breckenridge properties typically do not have A/C. At approximately 9,000 ft, daytime temperatures are usually moderate and evenings cool quickly; opening windows in the evening is often sufficient.

No private hot tubs, but the clubhouse offers two indoor hot tubs and a heated pool.
